The World Cycling Championships landed in Hamilton in the fall of 2003. I was captivated by the speed, the close action at the turns, the skill and most of all, the infectious atmosphere created by the riders and fans of the event. People from all over the world, top athletes from previous years all standing right beside me taking in the action with a casual intensity I had never experienced before.

I had been a Triple A hockey player as well as a soccer player growing up. I loved the competition, however I was lured away to cycling after the 2003 World Championships. I realized in the summer of 2004 that it was impossible to focus on more than one sport. I chose cycling as it was the most compelling.

I am now in my 8th year as a cyclist with many ambitious goals. I hope to have many years of racing and competition to come!
